Surabaya Transport Agency (Dishub Surabaya) is implementing energy-save actions by conducting Eco-terminal concept in Keputih terminal. The concept is being applied to prepare better life in the future as well as reducing the dependence on fuel energy. The implementation (Eco-terminal concept), design in 2011, is initiated by constructing a park which is equipped with playground. To support the concept, the facilities (playground) will adopt solar cell system in several instruments surrounding the park. The instruments comprise warning lights, garden lights, and street lighting. The mechanism of the instruments imitates the system which is applied in Margomulyo traffic light. The system, technically, is absorbing heat from the sun, secondly the heat is transform to electrical energy and then save it to storage battery. The solar cell energy meets the national energy policy explained by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Energy where any kind of activity or instrument has to adopt renewable source such as solar cell. The use of solar cell is expected to reduce dependence on electricity obtained from the state electric company (PLN) significantly as the form of tangible action preventing energy crisis.
